Human Scale
Workplace ergonomics
Ergonomics starts with the body, not the catalogue. We use reference anthropometric measurements for furniture and circulation. We favour what adjusts: height-adjustable desks, adjustable chairs and monitor arms.

Is this your case?
- “We bought the same desk for everyone and it does not fit everyone.”
- “Several people work with the monitor too low and their neck bent.”
- “We want the team to be able to alternate between sitting and standing.”
- “A wheelchair does not fit between the desks.”
How it works

Start from the activity
The task comes before the furniture: focusing, calling, collaborating or serving visitors. We define workstations by activity, not by job title.
Reference measurements
Seat height of 42–48 cm, adjustable, with lumbar support and adjustable depth. The top of the monitor sits at eye level, an arm’s length away.
Adjustable first
At long-stay workstations we prefer desks adjustable from 65 to 125 cm over fixed ones at 72–75 cm. That way each person fits the desk to their body.
Circulation
Main circulation is at least 120 cm wide and secondary circulation at least 90 cm. Two people pass without brushing.
What you receive
- Furniture specifications with reference measurements by workstation type.
- A plan of main and secondary circulation.
- A list of long-stay workstations with adjustable furniture.
- A perception survey before and after the intervention.

Frequently asked questions
How high should a desk be?
The reference fixed desk is 72–75 cm high. We prefer desks adjustable from 65 to 125 cm, to alternate between sitting and standing.
Where should the monitor go?
With its top edge at eye level and an arm’s length away. An articulated arm lets each person adjust it.
How wide do aisles need to be?
At least 120 cm for main circulation and 90 cm between desks. These are reference measurements adjusted to regulations and use.
Do we have to replace all the furniture?
Not necessarily. We prioritise long-stay workstations, and the scope is defined with the Audit.

Your company's performance is decided in its space.
It all starts with a Workplace Performance Audit: we measure before we give an opinion.
